Hide and Seek Cookies
This week's recipe is for a cookie. And rather than a drop cookie or a rolled cookie or pressed cookie (umm I think we get the idea)...well this is a cookie with a surprise in the middle. It's a surprise and nothing will get that secret out of me. Nothing.
It's a mini chocolate treat inside the cookie!! Shut the front door!
Life is good my baking friends...life is good. This really cuts down on having to decide whether to have a chocolate treat or a cookie. Just kidding...there's no or in that situation!
Cut, fill and shape. Did I mention there are mini chocolate treats in these cookies? Yup.
I think these would have been great with coconut chocolates (like Mounds). But I couldn't find any (it might be an American treat). Hubbie isn't heartbroken, as coconut is not a favourite of his.
This really is a simple little cookie. Perhaps another great one to add to my Christmas cookie list. (if I had one) I have a list in my mind. So yes, the list is safely tucked away (even from me).
These cookies need a little somethin' somethin'.

This will do nicely. |
Dip, dip, dip goes the cookies (clang, clang, clang goes the bell) into the white chocolate.
Then they are dipped again...this time in dark chocolate and sprinkled with coloured sprinkles.
What a great little surprise in these cookies. No one would have guessed there was a mini chocolate treat in them. Glad I kept that secret until the end. <cough>
And stay tuned next month, when Baked launches their newest cookbook Baked Occasions. (Click on the link and take a look inside the book. You can see some of the testers.) You might just see me! Did I mention I did some recipe testing for this book? Yup, me and a lot of the other Baked Sunday morning gang helped out. It was a lot of fun being part of this and helping our Baked Boys. And lucky us, we get to meet them and be part of the official book launch next month in New York! Yup, we're heading to New York!!!
Your cookies look beautiful! How cool that you did some recipe testing for the new cookbook! I'm really jealous! Can't wait to start baking from it!
