Oopsy Daisy (Cake)

Totes Amazeballs!

I think I'm going rogue today....oopsy daisy.  Pretty sure anyway.  I made this cake a while back, when I was deciding on which cake to make for hubbie's birthday. (this post
It was a very good cake. (I mean VERY GOOD!!)  If you haven't made it, then you definitely need to make it.  Of course it is by the Baked boys, so really you can't go wrong.

Me on the other hand, am baking on the dark side and going rogue.  Yes, I've decided since that first paragraph.  (I think she knew all along.)  Who said that???

And what recipe am I going to be baking on this rogue journey?  Cowboy Cookies.  Just one of the many recipes that I haven't tried yet; but had been made by the Baked Sunday Morning gang  (way back in 2011) before I joined.  I call these recipes, BMT (before my time).
No, I don't really.  But I could.  I could totally start a whole new 'thing'.  Good bye 'YOLO' and hello 'BMT'.  Business meeting lingo, meet 'BMT'.  I'm pretty sure saying, 'Whoa, whoa, BMT', would put a halt to a lot of conversations in a meeting room.  (Use in a 'don't blame me' situation.)  Then there is the insincere use, 'ohhhh, sorry BMT'.  (Smirk mandatory when uttering response.)

Sooo....Cowboy Cookies, huh.

I wanna be a cowboy, baby!  Thank you hubbie and Kid Rock for putting that song into my head.  And no, I am not going to put the youtube clip of the song in this post.  But rest assured it is stuck in my head and will take a good deal of shock therapy to remove it.

Cowboy Cookies.  Need them.  Want them.  Making them.  That's right, I see something and I take action.....like a cowboy.  I don't know if that is a true statement or just something I made up.  Or if it is made up and true.  Hmmm.  How awesome am I.....coming up with made up true facts about cowboys.  (No need to google, people.)  Don't make me post that Kid Rock video!

So like most cookie recipes, fairly simple to pull together.  The extra (and interesting) ingredients include oatmeal, instant expresso powder, chocolate and pretzels (yeah, pretzels).

Look at this cookie dough!  It's beautiful!  Full of Chunky Goodness.  Please note:  If I were a trucker, my CB handle would be Chunky Goodness.  Like it wouldn't!  Puh-lease!!!

Crazy + Amazing = Cramazing?
Or should I just go with the classic, Amazeballs!

If these are the cookies of cowboys, then I think I wanna be a cowboy, baby!!!

But wait, I'm not done.

Hell, I'm in the kitchen I might as well keep going. (Since it's too damn hot to be outdoors.)  This time, I'm going to turn to the first Baked cookbook.

I feel like I've barely made any recipes from this book.  So I really should give it some love too.  That being said, I picked the Peanut Butter Cookies with Milk Chocolate Chunks.  The Baked Boys aren't lying, these are not your ordinary peanut butter cookies.

I won't bore you with the making of these cookies....let's get right to the cookies themselves.

Aren't they beautiful, Madge?!

These cookies.....they are just so.....so....crazy good!!!  OMG!  So different from your regular peanut butter cookie.  I don't think I've liked a peanut butter cookie as much as these.  I'm not sure if it is the milk chocolate chunks that give the cookies a different flavour or the combination of that with the brown sugar.  All I know is that they are freakin' good.  And if the Cowboy Cookies were amazeballs, then these Peanut Butter Cookies with Milk Chocolate Chunks are Totes Amazeballs!!

And to make them even better, I made ice cream sandwiches with them...yeah, I did that.  I used the ice cream I made here.

And so ends another rogue journey.  (Not my first and likely not my last.)
