A Pound of Chocolate for your Thoughts
These sound like amazing cookies. And it seriously calls for a pound of chocolate! How crazy is that???!!! And like a good TWD'er I am going to stick to the recipe and make it as written.
Needless to say (but of course I'm going to), I will be very disappointed if these don't turn out; after all this chocolate. Have I mentioned there is a pound of chocolate in these cookies? (and no, not in each cookie) My chocolate of choice for this little venture is Callebaut and Valrhona.
Where to begin?
Let's start at the very beginning....a very good place to start! When you bake you begin with butter and sugar.
Dry stuff.
That chicken did not lay those eggs.....I hope.
Don't cry over spilled Vanilla....unless you are dangerously low on vanilla....waaaaa!
Milk Chocolate.
White Chocolate.
Bittersweet Chocolate.
Bitter and Broken.
Bitter, Broken, Bits.
A threesome never looked so good.
Butter cubed.
Granulated sugar meets butter.
Dark Brown Sugar looking for a little action too.
A Nod to St. Paddy |
Vanilla doesn't want to be left out.
Looking for a little stability; dry ingredients have been called on...
The chocolate threesome was feeling left out so they decided to jump in.
But wait....the cherries want to join in. I went with cherries rather than apricots. Thought the cherries would be fantastic with the chocolate.
A perfect blending.
And now time to just chill for a bit...
Chocolate overload in 3-2-1........

I love your post, your pictures are wonderful!!!!
ReplyDeleteCherries and chocolate mixt is a great idea, two flavors that combine perfectly!!!!
I enjoy this recipe too, the combination of all these ingredients give a unique flavor to these cookies!!!!
What a funny entertaining post. Well done!
ReplyDeleteWe do also think that they were a winner: I've even doubled the ingredients (with some changes), split the dough into 4 portions and added different ingredients (such as orange, pecan+walnuts, dried cherries, almonds).
Easy, quick (let's forget the chilling) and delicious recipe!
Love the Sound of Music reference! Great post!
ReplyDeleteLove that you got that reference! :)
DeleteLove the marble effect you ended up with in your cookies! Nicely done. :)
ReplyDeleteCute post.
ReplyDeleteYes, these were a winner!
Were the hills alive when you had a cookie?
They did make me do-re-mi! :)
DeleteLoved this post, especially the Sound of Music reference. Love the cherries, and your photos make the cookies look totally irresistible.
ReplyDeleteSandra, you certainly added an amazing array of delicious chocolates to these wonderful Mocha Chocolate Chip Cookies - your cookies look fabulous! And it is nice to read and see that you enjoyed them as much as we did!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Wednesday!
Love the commentary and Sound of Music reference. I could almost imagine a puppet show with your writing and photos! I also loved the cookies, even though mine turned into, um, mocha caramel "bites"..
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed! These got raves from my friends :)
ReplyDeleteYour cookies look wonderful...lot's of chocolate. They are awesome, aren't they? Love the apron.....
ReplyDeleteYour cookies look terrific, Sandra. What a great idea to sub cherries. One of my favorite cookie recipes is Martha Stewart's dark chocolate with sour cherries.
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm loving your pictures-these cookies are a definite want to try for me!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like the cherries idea. I might try that next time - and there will definitely be a next time! Just looking at your cookies is making me want more of them.
